We begin at 9:55 AM and conclude at 10:45 AM.

Join us in the Youth room starting  Sunday (Feb 4) during the Faith Formation hour (9:55AM-10:45AM) for a discussion of living mindfully in our world and listening for and following God’s call as it relates to all of what we do, from eating to technology to spending to praying. We will have an introductory session on February 4, and then work our way through “7 - An experimental mutiny against excess” by Jen Hatmaker.

Jen Hatmaker had to admit that life in America can be excessive, after taking in hurricane victims who commented on the extravagance of her family’s upper middle class home. She once considered herself unmotivated by the lure of prosperity, but upon being called rich by an undeniably poor child, evidence to the contrary mounted, and a social experiment turned spiritual was born. 7 is the true story of how Jen (along with her husband and her children to varying degrees) took seven months, identified seven areas of excess, and made seven simple choices to fight back against the modern-day diseases of greed, materialism, and overindulgence. Food. Clothes. Spending. Media. Possessions. Waste. Stress. It’s the discovery of a greatly increased God a call toward Christ-like simplicity and generosity that transcends social experiment to become a radically better existence. Begin this study just in time for Lent!
