Winter Shelter is a collaborative program run by People In Need and local faith communities to house the unhoused during the cold winter months. KGPC has been an active partner in this important community program by opening our church for a week during the winter for a warm and safe place to eat and sleep.

Judeo Christian Outreach Center is a nonprofit that serves the homeless community in a number of ways. This church partners with JCOC each year with significant financial donations and provides numerous meals at the JCOC facility.

The KGPC Annual Yard Sale is a “pay what you can” yard sale where folks in our congregation and around the community donate items for purchase. All proceeds go to a mission agency.

Beach Bags are grocery bags packed with nonperishable food items that are distributed to children who are food insecure on Fridays so that they may have food over the weekend. KGPC’s children and youth often pack these bags, which are then delivered to the schools.

KGPC partners with Department of Social Services to provide families in need of an extension of assistance they receive in the form of gift cards to local grocery stores. This allows the family to shop for their own specific nutrition needs.
Meals On Wheels of Virginia Beach is the longest-serving homebound meal and safety-check service in the City of Virginia Beach. Started in 1974 in Thalia Trinity Presbyterian Church, Meals on Wheels moved their offices to KGPC during COVID and delivers hundreds of meals all over the city each week with the help of KGPC volunteers and others.

Virginia Beach Infant Toddler Program Class is hosted by the Virginia Beach Early Intervention Program that helps children, birth-age three with developmental delays integrate into a school setting.

Samaritan House is a nonprofit that provides emergency shelter to victims of human trafficking and domestic violence. KGPC is a longtime supporter of their work in the community and regularly gives to their efforts.

Kairos Prison Ministry is a Christian-based program that shares the love and forgiveness of Jesus Christ with the incarcerated population and their families. KGPC has a dedicated team of volunteers who are involved in the transformational relationship building that occurs in the sterile walls of the prison. The congregation supports their efforts by making thousands of chocolate chip cookies that are distributed all over the prison during their visit as well as writing inspirational notes to the men.

Migrant Worker Ministry is an effort to collect supplies that migrant farm workers on the Eastern Shore of Virginia might need. Each summer, KGPC donates food, clothes, cleaning supplies, and diapers to the Migrant Worker population.
