Global Outreach Democratic Republic of the Congo Edited
Democratic Republic of Congo

We partner with two sister churches in the Democratic Republic of the Congo to bring Christ’s love to Christians in Africa. The connection between Presbyterians in eastern Virginia and the Democratic Republic of the Congo dates back to 1891, when William Sheppard from the Hampton Institute, along with Samuel Lapsley, founded the American Presbyterian Congo Mission at Luebo in Belgian Congo. Many of the churches in the Presbytery have sister churches in the DRC. Kings Grant has a partnership with two Democratic Republic of the Congo Presbyterian Church Community of Kinshasa (CPK)churches Salembao and Anunga.
