King's Grant Presbyterian

Last week, many of you read Jill Caynor’s resignation as our Children’s Music Director. Jill has done an amazing job working with our children and youth for 11 years. She has brought her faith, creativity, and dedication to this position and has impacted the lives of dozens and dozens of kids. She will be greatly missed as part of this staff, and yet we are so blessed by her many gifts and presence as a member of this congregation. We will find a way to adequately celebrate her ministry in the near future so keep an eye out for that announcement.

Because Jill had let some of us know several weeks ago, a few people have been praying and searching for someone to lead our children and youth music programs this year and in years to come. Fortunately, God has placed the perfect person in our music ministry to lead this program. John Fritz has been our bass guitarist for several years at KGPC. As the Kingston Elementary School music teacher, he has the passion to teach music to kids. You can read more about him in Mary’s article below. We are thrilled to welcome John onto our staff as he shares his gifts and talents in this capacity. All children, youth, and parents are invited on Wednesday at 5:00 to come and meet him and find out the plans for our music ministry in the upcoming months. God is good…all the time.

Don’t forget the other activities happening in the church: Sign up for the pictorial directory in October, pray about going on the mission trip to Puerto Rico to help them rebuild after the hurricane, consider joining a faith formation class Sunday morning or during the week, and bring a coat or blanket for PIN ministry. This church is bustling with activity as we do the ministry God calls us to do. It’s a blessing to be a part of it. And in so doing, studies show it leads to a happier, healthier, and longer life. (Come hear Sunday’s sermon to find out more!)
